New challenge! bookmarks for holy communions

14.08.2023

Although at TheCobaltStudio we specialize in weddings, challenges are always welcome. And it is the second communion in which we´ve contributed with a piece of our creativity.

Although communions / baptisms are another wedding-like event, I would say that we can find many similarities but also something big that sets them apart.

- At a wedding the most important thing is the invitations, although lately we have also received Save the date projects, which are sent before the invitations, I have even made websites where all the necessary information about the wedding is collected without actually sending an invitation, just an informative text via email or whatsapp along with the link to your website or even make the invitations only digital.

- In communions, as in weddings, anything goes. It will depend on the budget and tastes. There will be people who want to make formal invitations or send a statement via mobile. What we must keep in mind is that, as a general rule, communions are more family focused and less numerous and that makes it easier for us to get in touch with the guests and tell them about the event directly.

- Weddings stand out for all the stationary that can be filling the venue. From the invitations and web, as we have mentioned before, all the way to creating something exclusive for the seating plan, for the waiters who indicate the different tables, the markers to indicate where each person sits and even the menu or surprises for the guests.

- Communions can also carry all these elements if desired. Just as a wedding is personalized, a communion / baptism can be personalized.

What completely differentiates a wedding from a communion? The creativities.

And it is that, designing for a communion requires a special sensitivity and knowing how to mix the "serious" designs that any formal invitation needs since it is aimed especially at adults, without forgetting that it is a children's event in which they are the protagonists.

Luckily for us, we have the illustrator @Airinzona who makes digital watercolor illustrations for children's rooms.

And with that said, that's how Nicole's communion invitations were designed.

Totally personalized, depicting her with her white dress and her floral details on her belt and hair.We work the same as if it were a wedding, with design proposals, color palettes and different formats for information.

Karin, Nicole's mother, opted for the invitations / bookmarks since, in addition to the invitation, people could have them as a reminder of the day.

And that's why we added these blue bows that went together with the color palette and gave it the finishing touch.

I hope you liked them, for any questions you can contact us through our email or our social networks.

Regards

Irene
